Ouray and Telluride, CO

March 16th:

Since we were unable to go to the Ouray Brewery and other local places in town the night before, we decided to get up early and go to a cafe and get breakfast. We ended up going to a few and getting small things we could share, including homemade donuts!

Ham and cheese with green chili scone! It was delicious, but the staff wasn't very nice. We also went to a place called Mouse's Chocolate's and Coffee where we bought a scrap cookie which was delightful.

Went into the hot springs one last time and once we checked out of our hotel, we decided to go to the breweries since they were open. It was still too cold to hike and we didn't have hiking boots to go through the snow again, so we made some quick adjustments that were totally worth it.

We went to the Ouray Brewery where the was a roof top seating area and we enjoyed our local beers while looking at the mountains. After there, we went to a new brewery there called Red Mountain Brewering.

We then drove to Telluride, and if you ski, you've probably heard of it! Well, we didn't ski, instead we enjoyed the distillery, brewery, and some other local activities. Telluride Distilling Company was an amazing experience. The staff was really nice and informed us about the gondola downtown that is free to ride!

So naturally, we did it!

At the top in Mountain Village is a place called Tomboy Tavern. They had an event going on sponsored by Mount Gay Rum! We relaxed by a little fire with live music and warm blankets while enjoying a drink!

Somehow we were lucky enough to be invited to a rum tasting and mixing event for free. We were able to make our own drink and we received some Mount Gay merchandise as well all for free!

Once we were done there, we headed back to Grand Junction with a beautiful sunset.
