Fort Myers Beach

When I accepted this job in Florida, my close friends that I worked with back home said, "We are visiting!". So, after lots of switching shifts, they were able to come down for the first weekend of March!! The first two nights we decided to stay in Fort Myers Beach and then the next two we decided to spend in Siesta Key/Sarasota.

The first night, the girls flew in around 9 at night and we all had a lot to catch up on. We ended up just hanging out in our AirBnb, so the next morning we got up early and went for a run. Our place was only 2 blocks from the beach and walking distance to everything! That morning we made breakfast and enjoyed it outside on one of our 3 balconies.

Then we walked to the beach!

After spending all day at the beach, and realizing how burnt a few of us were, we headed to The Whale restaurant where we drank mojitos and ate delicious food!

That evening we did the Lagerhead Cycleboats! No, you don't have to bike the entire time. The fee is mostly to ride the boat and have a good time! You can bring any beverages and probably food that you desire. We chose to take the boat near when the sunset was so we could see it while on a boat. I would highly recommend doing this with a group of people! It was a great time! You also stop at a bar, which bar depends on the route of the boat. We went to Doc Ford's!

After biking, we headed to the beach bars in Fort Myers.

The next morning we had to check out early from our Airbnb. We headed out to Sanibel Island. It was relaxing to just drive around the beautiful island. The girls loved the views on the bridge and on the island. We ate breakfast/lunch at Sea Breeze Cafe. We decided to go there because there are views of the water. Unfortunately, a few of us had to sit in the shade due to sun burns.

We went to Sanibel Cafe after that where most of us got an iced chai Latte and a scone. We then went to the Manatee Park... where we were sad to see no manatees. We made the best of it!

Following that, we drove to Siesta Key! Look for the blog post of our adventures there!
