We Love Food

JOEY - Woodland Hills

This restaurant was only 2 blocks away making it easy to walk to and from! It does get very busy here on the weekends, so we recommend going during the week. This by far was Aaron's favorite steak we ordered in the LA area and possibly ever!

We loved this place so much, mostly Aaron could not stop talking about the steak so after our last shift we went back! Aaron had the steak and also pictured below is my tofu bowl and Korean fried cauliflower.

Vino and Tapas

At work I overheard people talking about this place so Meredith and I headed over one night after work. There was a large variety of wine to choose from, but I was shocked that they messed up Meredith's glass of wine! She tasted it and immediately said this is not what I ordered, and she was right! He gladly got her a new glass of wine and did not charge us. Then he messed up our food order... So the service wasn't the best, but everything was really good. We ordered the black angus meatballs, two skewers of filet mignon, chicken breast in lemon and garlic, and a charcuterie board!

Paradise Cove

Located in Malibu is this lovely place right on the water where you can get tropical drinks and great food. There is also an area to hangout at the beach. Parking here is free if you eat at the restaurant, otherwise there are fees for the beach and it all changes on the weekends! We highly recommend the corn on the cob and the blackened swordfish sandwich. Aaron absolutely loved the sandwich! Service was not the best, but the food made up for it.

The Local Peasant

Meredith and I overheard a few people talking at work about this restaurant and we decided to go check it out on a Saturday night! We made a reservation online which we HIGHLY recommend for any restaurant in the LA area. OpenTable is an app most places use and when you search the restaurant you can see what is available. If there is nothing, you can set it up to notify you if something does open! We had no problem getting a table online, but there was a 30 minute wait when we arrived so make a reservation! Anyway, the food was all really good. We loved the Crispy Buttermilk Fried Chicken Sandwich. Service here was not good. Whether this is because they were short staffed or due to the line of people waiting for a table, they were very eager to take our plates away, eaten or not. We had to stop them once because we were not done with our food and they tried to take it.

The Stand

Aaron and I were starving after we went to Sequoia National Park!! We both wanted a burger and I searched on Google best burgers near Woodland Hills. We ended up here which was only 3 blocks away from our apartment. Everything we had was amazing and fresh. Definitely recommend the Biscoff Milkshake!!

SUR

For those that watch Vanderpump Rules, you know this place already. Meredith has always been a big fan of the show and this was something she really wanted to go see. I didn't know anything about it so we watched a couple episodes of it. Essentially it is a show based off this restaurant and the people working there... of course lots of drama! There is also another restaurant called PUMP, but unfortunately when we went, PUMP was still closed so we settled for SUR. The restaurant is super cute and fancy. We were shocked at the prices! They were so low for such a popular and well known show! Also, the food was delicious!! So, even if you aren't into Vanderpump Rules, I recommend checking this place out because it is probably one of the least expensive places we went to while in LA. Get the baked goat cheese balls and look for someone famous while you're there! And yes, we got dessert too... everything was delicious!

MacLeod Ale Brewing Co.

Aaron and I went here to pick up beers for Super Bowl Sunday and wanted to go back. We decided to take Meredith and enjoy an evening for the 3 of us! Do not order the pretzel, that is probably the worst thing on the menu. The pizza is amazing! The vegan soyrizo is spicy and delicious along with the other pizza we ordered which had potatoes on it and I don't see it on their menu anymore. There is a make your own option as well!

We went back again one of our last nights in Woodland Hills with our friend Kellen. The 4 of us played darts too!

These are just a few places we enjoyed while we were on our travel assignment and I figured it would be easier to put them into one post! Hope you all enjoyed it and are feeling hungry now!
