Chris & Vanessa Visiting

Montana was not only destination travel assignment for Aaron and I, but his brother Chris and his wife Vanessa as well! They both have had Montana on their bucket list and when we got our assignment here they started planning a trip out. Thankfully our job has been beyond flexible with our schedule so we were able to get time off.

They flew into Missoula which is about an hour to two hours west of us. We planned this so that we could head up to Flathead Lake after which is north of Missoula. After picking them up at the airport, we headed to get some food. I got a few recommendations from co-workers and we ended up at James Bar. They have bison burgers which is something I knew everyone wanted!

After that we started our drive up to Bigfork where we booked an Airbnb.

The drive was beautiful and once we got into our Airbnb we all fell in love.

It was so adorable and homey in this little cabin. We headed into town to go to Tamarack Brewing Company which is on the other side of Flathead Lake from where we were staying. Unfortunately, they closed early that day so we ended up going to Harbor Grille. Though it was dark we quickly realized this is situated right on the lake. Outside they had multiple fires to enjoy with a cocktail or whatever. The food here was great! I would not recommend the bread bowl for soup. The bread absorbed the soup and made the bread super soggy. Everything else was delicious though.

Then we went back to our adorable cabin and headed to bed after catching up some more and taking in the warmth of this cabin. The next morning we went outside on the deck for coffee and tea.

Then we had the boys pick up food from Echo Lake Cafe which was a recommendation from Wrigley's mom, Anne.

After that we headed into Bigfork to check out the downtown. TALK ABOUT CUTE! It is right on the lake too and all the stores for the most part, sell locally made products. It was amazing to see the work they do and knowing we are supporting local businesses and artists is a great feeling.

After shopping, we made our drive back to Helena.

We quickly got dressed and went to the Broadwater Hot Springs.

The next day we headed up to Mount Helena for a hike!

Following that, we headed to downtown Helena to check out the shops and get food at Windbag!

Unfortunately, they had to leave the following morning. We had so much fun while they were visiting and hope they visit us again during our travels!
