Fayetteville, WV

The day after our busy day enjoying Bridge Day, we slept in a little and planned to visit Babcock State Park before it started to rain. Originally we were going to hike Island in the Sky trail, but since we knew the rain was coming, we decided to enjoy the Glad Creek Grist Mill and gift shop.

They also have an Almost Heaven swing here!

We also walked inside the Grist Mill.

The rain started to come down so we headed out and drove to Cathedral Falls.

No hiking required here either. You can see everything just by walking about 20 feet!

On the way there we saw Chimney Corner Crafts and I wanted to stop there for some local items. When we walked out, we noticed Chimney Corner Café across the intersection.

We all were starting to get hungry, so we headed in. We are so glad we stopped here. They had live music, good food, and delicious spiked hot apple cider!

After that we stopped at Mystery Hole. Well, I can't tell you too much about it, but if you're looking to check out something different, this is the place for you. They do not recommend it for young children or people with heart issues or seizures.

As we drove back to Fayetteville, we stopped at an overlook in Hawks Nest State Park.

When we left here, it started to down pour! We got into town, checked out one of the shops, and headed back to the VRBO. We hung out in the living room and watched football for the evening.

The next morning we stopped at Cathedral Café and book store for some caffeine. It looked very busy inside, so if you're looking to eat here, I'd suggest getting there early. Tudor's Biscuit World is a chain fast food restaurant based in Huntington, WV. They have locations in Kentucky, Ohio, and Florida as well. One of the girls at work asked, "You been to Tudor's??". None of us have, so we went there for breakfast instead! I had the Little Tudor and I have to say, for fast food, the food was really good. The biscuits were delicious too!

Our trip to Fayetteville, WV was so much fun and I am so glad my mom was able to explore Almost Heaven, West Virginia!
