Being less than 30 minutes from Malibu means quick trips to the ocean!
For Valentine's Day, Aaron and I made a reservation at The Sunset. This is a restaurant located on Westward Beach at Zuma. Aaron picked it out and we set our reservation for close to sunset. As we waited for our reservation time, we watched the sun go down.
Then we headed inside to grab a drink to enjoy outside as well!
Keep in mind if you are going here, BRING A JACKET. I think we have learned now that anywhere you go here in SoCal, you should always prepare for the weather to change and a jacket is always needed, especially if you are going close to the water.
We ordered clam chowder to share, steak, and salmon for dinner. It was all delicious!
Another day we headed to Malibu with Meredith and a traveler we met at work, Louis. We had met him our first day of orientation and go figure, he is from Ohio and an Ohio State fan like Aaron. It was perfect! There are not many men in the nursing world so this was great. We had hung out with Louis a couple times watching football at our place, but this day was the last time we would see him since his contract was ending. First stop was the Malibu Pier.
We were hoping for warmer weather, I should clarify, beach weather, but it was a little chilly that day at Zuma Beach. We packed long sleeves and pants and sat in the sand with a couple drinks and talked until sunset.
Afterwards we headed to Tarantula Hill Brewing Company for a few beers and food.
Then we headed back to our place and said our goodbyes to Louis with hopes we would see him again soon!
