After hiking Horseshoe Tail Falls, we went back to our hotel and got dressed to go to South Lake Brewing Company.
The patio outside was really relaxing and had a lot of places to sit. After we finished our drinks, we went to get food at Beacon Bar & Grill. This is situated right on the water and we were able to sit outside to enjoy our dinner.
This restaurant is well known for their Rum Runners... which are very strong! The calamari was good as were the fish tacos and fish and chips. Aaron would not recommend the chicken sandwich.
After that we parked the truck at the hotel and walked over to Basecamp to listen to music and play some corn hole!
The next morning we headed to the Tahoe East Shore Trail and rented bikes from Flume Trail Bikes. This is the same location as the trailhead for Monkey Rock which I did with one of my friends who was in town. There is a large parking lot to park, but it is over priced. There is plenty of street parking that is free though. The bikes were $25 for 2 hours (if I recall correctly) and you can also rent the bikes for the day. This is a great deal because there are a lot of coves along the Tahoe East Shore trail that are difficult to access unless you have a bike. There is hardly any parking near Tahoe, so biking it is!!
Emerald Cove and Sunset Cove were so clear and have this green glow to them. My dad has never been to Lake Tahoe so it was really fun to explore so much of it in 2 hours with him and Aaron. My dad said, "This is like the water in Aruba". KEEP TAHOE BLUE!
2 hours is plenty of time to explore this trail and I definitely recommend it! I wouldn't mind going back and renting bikes for an entire day and hang out in each cove for hours! I am so glad we were able to explore Lake Tahoe a little bit even though the sky was filled with smoke.
