Eat & Drink Reno

After 3 months of living and working in Reno, I decided to make a list of a few places we enjoyed eating and drinking at!

FOOD

Homegrown Gastro Pub

So many people recommended this place! Everything is from local farms and is organic. You can't go wrong with anything on this menu.

Nevada Steak

Aaron and I had a date night and were able to enjoy a wonderful steak dinner at Nevada Steak. We both loved our steak and the lobster bisque!

Liberty Food & Wine Exchange

This place is so cute! They have a great menu, but we ordered one of the specials, Wagyu steak! It was delicious and the potatoes and veggies on top were amazing too!

Great Full Gardens

One day after grocery shopping at Smiths, we headed over here to grab a bite to eat. It is a really cute little restaurant with lots of fresh food and juice!

Great Basin Brewing Company

We went here one evening and sat at the bar since there was a long wait for a table. We met a really nice guy who was in town for work and talked with him all evening. The burgers, beers, and service was great!

Schussboom Brewing Company

This was actually the first place we ever went to in Reno to eat and drink! We were not going to order food, but we kept hearing how great the pizza was from everyone and it smelled amazing. So we decided to dig into a prosciutto, apple, and arugula pizza that I don't think they still have on the menu, but it was amazing!

Arario

Aaron and I both are mostly American food eaters, but everyone recommended this Korean restaurant so we had to check it out. We weren't sure what to order and the waitress helped us decide. We had the shrimp tempura to start and we both ordered bulgogi. I had the bulgogi bowl which is spicy pork and Aaron had the beef bulgogi. Everything was seriously amazing. We almost went back on our last night in Reno, but they are closed on Tuesdays. We definitely will be more interested in Korean restaurants from now on!

Mexcal

A couple girls from work and I all met up and had dinner and drinks at Mexcal! Our original plan was Arario, but of course it was a Tuesday when they are closed. The food here was great, as were the cocktails. I loved the carne asada taco!

Noble Pie Parlor

This restaurant and Arario were probably our two favorite restaurants. There are two locations of Noble Pie Parlor, one in South Reno and one in Midtown. We only went to the location in South Reno since it was a less than 5 minute drive from our house. The location in Midtown was visited by Guy Fieri on Diners, Drive-ins, and Dives, but they both have the same menu and the South Reno location is usually less busy! Our first time we went, we ordered the PB&J pizza (pineapple, basil, and jalapeno). We also had garlic fries and wings. These wings were amazing! As long as you love garlic, these are the wings for you! There is freshly minced garlic all over them!

And then... we went again. They have an amazing cocktail menu too! This time we got cocktails, garlic knots, and 2lb of wings.

Yes, we went again...Our last night in Reno we went back. We had a 1/2lb of wings, the Mom's Mandarin Salad, and the T-Pane pizza. Everything was delicious as usual. I will say, this place is not cheap, but it is all delicious and worth it!

Record Street Brewing

We went here spontaneously one evening and ordered some beers and food. Aaron said the wings were alright, but we both were surprised at how good the salad was! It was very fresh!

Two Chicks

When my dad was visiting we headed over here for breakfast one morning. Everything was very good, but we were not a huge fan of the hash browns.

COCKTAILS, BEERS, & WINE

Reno Public House

After going to Homegrown Gastro Pub we went over here to have a drink! They have a nice patio with lights to enjoy your drinks at too!

Revision Brewing Company

We went here one evening and loved the warehouse feel here! There is corn hole and lots of areas to sit and hangout.

Beer NV

This was also one of the first places we went to. They have beers from everywhere on tap! We ordered a flight and took home a crowler.

Lead Dog Brewing Company

After we went hiking, we went here to grab some beers! This is also in a warehouse and has cornhole! This location was in Sparks, but they also have a location in Downtown Reno.

When my dad was visiting we went to the Downtown Reno location. They have cornhole and seating inside, but we decided to sit outside to enjoy our beers!

Nevada Wine

After going to Lead Dog, we headed to Nevada Wine. When we walked in, the gentleman said they were closed, but he was willing to serve us. We ended up talking to him for 2 hours! We had such an awesome time talking to Mike. We went back again before heading out of state and both said this was one of our favorite places to grab some wine!

The Depot Craft Brewery and Distillery

Though this place does have food, it also has amazing cocktails! We went here with my dad the first time and ordered the corn bread fritters and brussel sprouts. We only wanted to have appetizers at the time. Both of the appetizers were good, but the cocktails were delicious!

Aaron and I went again and when we did, he wanted the drink my dad ordered, Fuego Caliente. The cocktail menu changed, so it wasn't on there anymore. We found out that the bartenders make their own cocktails and most likely all of the drinks are still available as long as they have the ingredients! I had the Takes Two to Mango and Aaron had the Fuego Caliente.

Yes, we went again! When Aaron's brother Brad was visiting, we went here for a few cocktails. Everything was great, as usual! I had the High Empress Negroni and later the Gin & Botanicals. Aaron had the Depot Manhattan after his Fuego Caliente.

Death and Taxes

After getting food at Mexcal, the girls and I headed over to Death & Taxes! They have an always changing menu of cocktails, but they all are great. The inside has a speakeasy feel too.

Pinon Bottle Co

After going to Arario, we went downstairs to this little place. They have beers on tap from many different places and many are available in cans!

IMBiB

When we were shopping at the outlet mall in Sparks, we decided to grab a drink at IMBiB with Brad. One thing I love about this place is they have free pretzels! I love having a little snack while I enjoy a beer!

Of all these places we highly recommend:

Arario and Noble Pie Parlor for food.

The Depot Brewery and Distillery for cocktails (and/or food).

Lead Dog Brewing Company for beer.

Nevada Wine and Liberty Food & Wine Exchange for some vino (food at Liberty is also amazing).

Of course I am sure there are other places in Reno we did not get to try out, but we really enjoyed these places!
