Havasu is Back

Here in Lake Havasu, you would hardly know that the corona virus happened. Some people do wear masks, but the majority of people do not and no one really is social distancing. The media is saying we have an increased rate, but there are so many factors into why it is going up besides restaurants reopening.

About a month ago now, the restaurants opened up and we headed out to Legendz! One of our favorite places to eat. We saw our favorite bartender (with his mask on) and got some wings!

The next morning we went to Peggy's Sunrise Cafe for some breakfast.

To continue our support of all these local places reopening, we went to Hangar 24. Since it was a Tuesday, they had deals on their margarita's and $1 street tacos! We had never been there during the daylight, so we sat outside and watched the planes fly in and out.

On one of our days off, we went and checked out Mudshark Brewing & Public House located on Aviation. We had never been and we had a great time! This is an awesome place to bring a deck of cards and hangout. Aaron was not a huge fan of their wings, but we both enjoyed their beers.

We also went to College Street Brewhouse & Pub for a late lunch. The food here is awesome! The loaded fries were great!

Following there, we went to Copper Still Distillery. It is difficult to find, but once you do it is a cute little place! There are tons of different drinks to choose from. They do sell food, mostly different hot dogs. They also have a board where you can buy a drink for a veteran, health care worker, first-responder, or police officer. So when one of them come to the bar, they can get a free drink for all they do for our country!

There is a traveler we have been working with Ruby, who we had never hung out with outside work. Her and her boyfriend Blake met us at Blue Chair one evening and we had an awesome time!

Following there, we headed over to a place called Kokomo to have a few more drinks and play some garbage can beer pong!

The next day...we went condominium shopping. We originally wanted to buy a foreclosure property, COVID has caused the auction to keep getting postponed. Travel nursing jobs are hard to find right now and we knew we could stay here in Havasu. We figured we might as well look at condos to buy and then we can stay in it and rent it out come the fall when hopefully jobs open back up. Our realtor Lynn was awesome! She took us to 4 different places and Aaron and I were able to compare them to figure out exactly what we were looking for.

Our original thought was to buy a place that we would fix up. Once we started looking at the condos, many of them would of taken A LOT of work. Though it would of been fun to do it ourselves, we got to the last place and fell in love with the view off the balcony.

We ended up putting in an offer, and the next day they accepted it!! Yay! We are home owners! We are planned to close at the beginning of July and we can't wait!

While Ruby was home with her family in Texas, we hung out with her boyfriend Blake and their cute golden doodle, Venture, down at the channel.

You can hardly tell that COVID happened...am I right? Well, we enjoyed it and we are loving it here! Now we will be here until September 19th and who knows where we will head after that!
