After our engagement weekend, our time in Lake Havasu flew by. Before we knew it, we were accepting jobs in West Virginia and making our way home for the month of July. Our last weeks in Havasu were filled with so much fun seeing friends.
Our friends from church, Alice and Steve, took us out on the lake.
We hung out with our friends Trevor and Anyssa who have an adorable French Bulldog named Kylo. Between swimming and eating, we didn't take any pictures together, but we have some of Kylo and the amazing cookies Anyssa's sister made us!
We visited our friends Greg and Wendy at their off-grid home in Yucca. The 4 of us sat outside and watched the shooting stars while we talked about life, love, and more. Their house is truly an oasis and a place we look forward to visiting again. We even saw a Kit fox!
To celebrate Aaron's birthday we went to Azul Agave with Kellen, Maddy, and Daniel. Maddy and Daniel bought carrot cake just for the occasion!
Meghan, Kellen's girlfriend, and I enjoyed some high protein waffles, 'healthy' ice cream, and beers after the gym at Charged Up Nutrition Bar and College Street Brewhouse & Pub.
Going bowling became the new thing to do in the evenings. After spending the day in the sun, it was a perfect way to escape the heat. Following bowling, Maddy, Daniel, Meghan, Kellen, Aaron, and I enjoyed beers at the new Rickety Cricket Taproom just a few blocks from our condo.
July 4th weekend, our friends Grace and Matt who are originally from Michigan, but we met them in Montana (Grace is a traveling nurse) and have now moved to Montana, came down to visit! We all wanted to relax in water for the day. The pool at our condo complex was the perfect location since there was no one there!
After that we headed to Rickety Cricket Taproom and grabbed food from the food truck next door.
The next day we had to say goodbye to Kellen and Meghan as they headed back to San Diego. It was so sad saying goodbye. Kellen has become a brother to us and we hope to travel with him again in the future! Grace and Matt were up for anything and we decided to bring our cooler down to the water and float around.
That evening we spent time at our co-worker Brandy's and played with her tortoise Popcorn. I can't believe this is one of the only times we hung out at Brandy's house while we were in Havasu. We wish we could've been there more!
The next day Maddy and Daniel brought down their jet skis to Body Beach. We all took turns rippin' around...even though all the kids down there were way better than us!
Afterwards we all grabbed food at Burgers Under the Bridge. Then, we walked down the channel to see all the crazies!
That evening was the fireworks. Our tenant in the first condo we bought moved out early, so we were able to hangout on the balcony and have a perfect view of the fireworks on the lake.
The next morning we headed down to Red Onion for breakfast.
Sadly after that Matt and Grace headed back to Montana. We are so glad they were able to visit and see our little home(s) away from home. We never know when we will see them, but we are already looking forward to the next time.
Only a few days after that we left Lake Havasu. We had to postpone leaving because we were not packed up, but it gave us an opportunity to see Maddy and Daniel again before heading out. Saying goodbye to our friends who are like family to us, is always so hard...
Goodbye for now West Coast! It has been a fun two and a half years!
