Yes! We made it! Our long drive ended in a wonderful little city! January 6th I headed down to Kentucky where Aaron's family lives, a 10 hour drive. That evening we relaxed and caught up on the last 2 weeks apart. The next morning we had a great breakfast at First Watch in Hurstbourne Louisville!
The rest of the day we spent seeing Aaron's family and relaxing before our long drive ahead of us.
On January 8th, we said our goodbyes and started the 26 hour drive from his house to our new condo in Lake Havasu City, AZ. The drive was long, but we enjoyed the sunset our first day of driving.
We decided to stop driving at about 12 hours and stayed at a random motel in Hinton, OK. We went to a casino near by for dinner and fell asleep. The next day we started driving around 9am, little did we know that we would drive the rest of the 15 hours that day...
Aaron loves the show Breaking Bad, so we went to see the house it was filmed at since it was a very small detour. That evening we decided, lets keep driving since we would end up at our condo at 11 pm and then we would be done driving. Well, then we got to Flagstaff where there was a complete blizzard. We pulled over, refueled our trucks, and had a bite to eat while watching the radar. We knew eventually we would get out of the storm, but it was not going to be easy. Our trucks were in 4-wheel drive and we were traveling 30-40 mph on a major highway. I felt like I never left NY... Once we got down the mountain it was smooth sailing from there. We got to our condo, moved a few things in and went to sleep.
When we woke up, we were able to see all that surrounded us, and it was beautiful! Our little balcony has such a view. Also, our condo complex has a heated pool and two hot tubs!
We started looking at places to eat near us and realized, everything was walking distance, along with the hospital! We walked to Chico's Tacos since Aaron was ready for some Mexican food!
That evening we took our trucks to get washed and went down the the lake!
Even from the balcony of our condo, the sunsets are beautiful.
One morning we woke up and saw a hot air balloon. There was a festival going on where they set a ton of them off!
There's a place down the road called Jersey's Bar & Grill that we ate at one night. Their salad was awesome and Aaron got their wings were were pretty good.
For lunch one day we went to Juicy's "The Place with the Great Food" and it was great!
I promise, we do much more than just eat, but our first week here our schedule was all over the place and all we did besides work, was eat and sleep! Aaron's favorite place to get chicken wings is Legendz Sports Bar & Grill and the bartender Dominique is awesome!
Look out for many more posts of our travels here!
Miss the air balloons we used to see frequently on the East side. Great pictures Kara ❤️
