Yes!! My mom was able to visit! Just before the craziness of the Corona Virus, my mom came for almost an entire week. We had so much planned and were very happy that she arrived here safely and had no problems. She flew into Las Vegas and then drove down to Lake Havasu so it was pretty late when she arrived. The next day the weather did not cooperate so we slept in and had brunch at the Red Onion!
We walked around downtown trying to stay out of the rain after we had brunch. We walked back to our condo and started to look up information on Havasupai Falls. Our plan was to go the next day and take the helicopter. Well, you have to have a 3 day reservation (a cost of $100+ per night) and the first come first serve helicopter is $200. Our plan was to take the helicopter to the falls, hike the 2 miles to the falls and then head back out. To our surprise, that is not permitted so we were glad we called prior to going. These falls are run by an Indian reservation, so these prices and their rules are all up to them. We really wanted to experience the falls, but unfortunately it did not workout. The next day they canceled all reservations without a refund (due to the virus), but if you had a reservation you have the opportunity to make one next year...
That evening we went to Fiesta Mexicana for some margaritas and then headed to Legendz for a few drinks. The rest of the night we hung out, watched movies, and played card games. The next day the weather was great and we headed down to the London Bridge for some food at Burgers by the Bridge. Highly recommend the fish and chips!
We decided to check out things around the London Bridge and walk off some of our food.
Then we headed to the Turtle Bar.
After the Turtle Bar, we went back to the condo to enjoy some pool and hot tub time. We all got to talking and steak was on everyone's mind. ChaBones had great reviews online so we decided to go for it! We had a reservation, but there was still a long wait. We sat at the bar and waited patiently and the manager offered to buy us any appetizer since we waited for so long! We ordered some seared tuna and we all ordered steak for dinner.
These steaks were possibly the best I have ever had. Aaron says, "I know everyone likes this food since we all are smiling while eating". The desert looked great too, so we saved some of our steaks and ordered desert!
We walked out with the biggest food babies ever! Once we got back to the condo, we all fell asleep. The next day Greg and Wendy offered to take us out on their Razor! Wendy was so kind to give up her seat for my mom.
We met up with the Crazy Horse crew and headed out to the Bunker Bar.
After the Bunker Bar, Billy, the leader of the group, took us on a little unknown trail. He said it was marked on his GPS so he decided to check it out. Well, it was pretty snug for Greg's 4-seater, but we made it and had a blast, even when we got stuck.
We headed back to town and met up with Wendy and a bunch of people who live at the condo complex at the bar No Name. Then headed to BJ's.
We played cards and dice over at Greg and Wendy's that night before heading to bed. The next day we went to Juicy's for breakfast.
Then relaxed by the pool and got some sun!
For dinner we went to Blue Chair. This is down by the London Bridge and has a great view of the river from any table.
After we went for a little walk to the lighthouse.
My mom LOVES to boat! So, we rented a boat for a day and invited Greg and Wendy to join us. Greg and Wendy have a jet ski and they knew where to guide us on the river
It was so fun and we were chased by ducks! They wanted our crackers!
We went down to Parker and had lunch at the Springs Restaurant. We took a relaxing drive back and stopped at one of the coves to hang out before heading back to drop off the boat.
When we got back to the condo, we rushed to get ready and headed to the bar crawl our condo was doing for St. Patrick's Day.
The next day, unfortunately my mom had to leave... We are so happy she was able to visit us and able to enjoy all that this little city has to offer!
