Oatman

Oatman is a small mining village in the Black Mountains, about an hour from us. In 1915, there was a $10 million gold find! We decided to go check it out on a windy day.

There are plenty of places to park on the right when you first drive in. There are also public restrooms near there too. The village is a narrow street and there is limited parking from what we could see. We were starving and decided to go into Olive Oatman Restaurant & Saloon.

Aaron ordered a cheeseburger and I had a grilled cheese with chili. We had never heard of Indian Fry Bread, so we ordered that too! It reminded us of fried dough, but better!

After leaving there we went into a couple shops and ran into some burros, also known as wild donkeys!

They were so friendly! Make sure you bring some carrots for them to munch on, they loved that.

There also is a small part of where they used to mine that visitors can go into. It's amazing how small it was! If you're near Havasu and looking to do a little day trip, here it is!
