Provincetown, MA

Provincetown is known for many things. The original landing of the Mayflower... and now the haven for LGBT. My boyfriend Aaron came to visit and we decided to check it out! It's roughly an hour and a half from Bourne, MA where I was living.

I wasn't sure where to start so we put the Pilgrim Monument into our phones and it turned out to be the best spot for parking. $17 for the day, and if you want to park overnight they said you had to get the car by 8am. The parking pass also gives you one free admission into the monument! So really, you were paying $3 for parking since admission fee is $14! It was great!

After going into the Monument, we checked out the museum. In the first picture below, that's a whales jaw!

Then we walked down to Commercial street and the MacMillian Pier where we saw lots of seals!

Lobster Pot is a well known place to eat at in P-town, so we went there for a late lunch-early dinner. I'm sure this place is packed on the weekends, but we went on a Thursday and were seated right away with a view of the ocean! We couldn't decide what to eat so we got multiple things! The clam chowder has been rated the best every year since 2001! It was delicious, but so was everything! We had clam chowder, lobster bisque, lobster aranchini, and a broiled 1 1/4 lb lobster!

While sitting at dinner we contemplated staying the night or driving back. We found a whale watching tour with Dolphin Whale Watch for 5:30 pm and thought, let's do that and then drive back to Bourne. Little did we know, it was a 3 hour tour and we left our sweatshirts in the car! We still had an amazing time.

Once we got out about an hour, Aaron and were thinking where are these whales!! Well, then the boat stopped because they spotted a mother and baby!

And we saw them come up to eat!

And finally we saw some tails!

It was beautiful and though it was chilly, we were able to see a beautiful sunset.

Of course we had another lobster roll after dinner! There is plenty more to do in P-town, but for a day trip I think we covered some great stuff! Especially the whale watching tour!
