Razor Riding

The people in our condo complex are very friendly and are always hosting events! We were at the pool one evening and they hosted a soup night. Greg and Wendy, a couple we had talked to at the pool before told us we have to come and eat! We did and it was delicious. We got to talking to Greg and Wendy and they invited us to go out on their side-by-side/razor that coming Saturday! I was beyond excited! Here in Arizona they are street legal so people drive them everywhere.

9 am sharp we met them at their garage to get loaded up. We drove over to Crazy Horse, a campground that is over on the island that's connected to Lake Havasu City. When we got there we realized, this is no joke. I could not believe that a group of 11 razors were going out on these trails. Since Greg and Wendy have an awesome radio system, we took the back since we could communicate with Billy in the front to make sure we all made it!

The ride was awesome! I could not believe how easily the razor went up and down the hills. Just before our first break, we went up this...

Greg thought it was pretty funny since any time you said anything into the headset, it goes to everyone in your side by side. So when we saw this and I gasped, not only was he laughing, but also saying "Just hold on, it'll be fine". And it was!

Later on we stopped for lunch. There was a group of people who kept gathering wood at every stop we made. When we stopped for lunch, they made a fire and cooked hot dogs!

Greg had his Razor playlist on and we were having a riot!

We were headed to the Needle, which is a giant rock formation out in the desert that has a tiny little needle hole in it that you can crawl through. On the other side is an amazing view!

After spending time there, we headed to the R Bar, but of course, one more beer stop!

It was so much fun. After this stop we headed down the trails that are right next to I-95 and wow those were some big hills! By then I felt much more comfortable with what the side-by-side could do.

It is hard to tell from a picture exactly how steep some of these hills are, but I can assure you, they were steep! We were out there almost the entire day. At 4 pm we went to the R Bar and got a gyro, chicken wings, and french fries!

After cleaning off all the dirt, we still wanted to go again the next day! Greg's friend Billy joined us 4 on his side-by-side as we took the trip to the Bunker bar. This bar is out in a desert and the road to get to it is all dirt. Once you get out there, there is limited plumbing and electricity. It is really neat how all around you is mountains!

At the Bunker Bar there is a food truck/trailer Niko's, the same place we ate at the day before. There was a band and we got some food, drinks, and hung out for a few hours before heading back. We had such a fun time out with Greg and Wendy and are so thankful and lucky to have met such wonderful people!
