Sarasota Vacay

Since I spent my summer here in the beautiful Cape Cod, my boyfriend Aaron extended his assignment in Florida. In June I decided to visit him for his birthday! Thankfully, the weather was just warm enough for us to enjoy ourselves outside, but we did find some great indoor activities.

The first day we went to Gulf Gate Food + Beer where we had amazing fried goat cheese.

The next day we headed to Lido Beach.

Once we were a little too burnt to be in the sun any longer, we headed to Daiquiri Deck for some drinks, conk fritters, and sweet potato fries.

We took a spontaneous drive up to Anna Maria Island. On the way, we pulled over and saw two dolphins and a little one! We checked out Rod and Reel Pier, but found that the restaurant was pretty crowded. We grabbed a drink and headed out to find somewhere else.

The Sandbar ended up being our place for dinner. It was probably one of the best meals we have had in Florida. Not to mention, the back of the restaurant is the beach and ocean so there is a beautiful sunset. The picture of food was the salmon we ordered... phenomenal!

The next day we went kayaking! We did this while we both were in Florida on our assignment, but wanted to check it out again. Aaron has never seen a manatee, so we were on the lookout! I saw something moving and I said, "Look over there!"

We ended up seeing them again later on. After spending time in the sun, we went to the MOTE aquarium which was on our list to do before and we never got the chance!

The next day we headed up to Tampa with Bub and Jina (Aaron's cousin and Fiance who we went to Key West with). We went to Armature Works where there were tons of little places to eat and drink inside. We had the best acai bowl!

Then we rented scooters. They were a blast! Kind of dangerous for the people walking around on the river side, but each scooter has 'red zones' where it slows down. For some reason mine was super slow and then randomly would go 13 miles an hour! So, be careful if you ever rent these!

After, we checked out Lowry Parcade which is a bar with arcade games everywhere! The idea was to go to Top Golf or an ax throwing place, but they didn't workout. Once we left the arcade bar, we went to 7venth Sun Brewery for a few beers and food from the food truck.

The next day was Aaron's 31st Birthday! We had a little cookout and hung out by the pool. The next day was my last day in Florida. We went to Myakka State Forest where we walked around and saw a little frog and some gators!

That evening we went to the beach to watch the sunset which ended up not being as pretty as we had hoped, but we enjoyed it anyway!
