Amidst all this traveling, Aaron and I decided to buy our friends Greg and Wendy’s condo. When we first got to Lake Havasu in 2020, we were renting in a condominium known as Rio Del Sol. The condominium is just a few blocks from the hospital and the main bars in Havasu.
We absolutely loved the location and and the people were very social. Greg and Wendy came over to us at the pool one day and invited us out on their Razor. I was super excited since we see people riding them all the time! Here's the post from our day Razor Riding: https://kyakel.wixsite.com/adventureswithkara/post/razor-riding
After that we continued to hang out with Greg and Wendy when we were off work. We would walk over to their condo, cook up dinner, and play some dice or cards. They are family to us.
In November 2021 Aaron said to me, “Hey, Greg and Wendy are selling their condo!”. We looked at the pictures, reminisced about their place and all the good memories. We both agreed we were not in the right place to buy another property.
About a month went by and their place was still on the market. We got to talking and applied for a loan which we were soon approve for. We put an offer in and Greg and Wendy accepted it! We were thrilled to have their place as they did an amazing job renovating it. We decided to get a travel job back in Havasu and live at our place. Kellen had said multiple times he wanted to travel with us and it worked out we have an extra room and bathroom! Once we were done in Helena, we headed on down to sunny Lake Havasu City to our new place! We have a great little sunset view from our bedroom.
Soon after we arrived, we ran into our other friends who live at the condominium and went to Legendz for food with them.
The next day being Sunday we went to church at Hilltop and then headed over to BJ’s to listen to music. BJ's is usually really busy so eating there is difficult so we went over to Legendz for food.
Once the weekend was over, it was time for renovations/updates/making the place ours! Next to the bed we noticed we didn’t have bedside lamps so we headed to Home Depot.
Then Aaron decided he wanted to replace the fans and shower heads.

After:
We did find time to go to Winter Fest with our friends Blake and Ruby. At Winter Fest, vendors come and sell various things! Aaron was happy with the corndog station and key lime pie on a stick.
We didn’t find anything we needed for the condo at that time, but we did need shelves for the showers so we bought those online and at one of the stores in Havasu!
The one thing that took the longest was finding what bedroom set we wanted for the spare room, what bedspread, what mattress, etc… And wow we are glad putting that all together is over! Big Lots had a great set for the bed and side table. We bought the mattress at a local place as we did our best to keep business local. We found the bedspread online and loved it since it added so much color. We bought the lamps at Home Depot which I thought were adorable. Then one of our friends came and installed outlets behind the TV so cords aren’t hanging down!
We got the bedroom done just in time for Kellen and his girlfriend Meg to move in. We cooked them up a nice steak dinner and were thrilled the next morning when they said the bed was comfortable! After the boys went to the gym and Meg and I went for a run, we took them to one of our favorite places Red Onion.
Then we looked at various art for the walls and found a few pieces we love!
Before & After!
That night we took them to Blue Chair and Scoops Homemade Ice Cream.
The next day we all relaxed at the pool.
That evening we went to Mudshark Brewery and Public house.
We had such a fun time showing Kellen and Meg a few places in Havasu. The 2 weeks off Aaron and I had flew by. Between driving down from Montana and setting up the spare room, our hands were full. We both said when we buy a house, we will buy the furniture assembled!
